Bias Accountability Groups

Bias is like breathing, we have some control but we can't stop.

The Wade Alliance can help your organization create a community of accountability in order to reduce bias.

Every person has bias.

Bias is the shortcut we use to make routine and complex decisions. There are more than 180 biases from anchoring bias to zero-risk bias that describe our behavior in different situations. Like actual shortcuts we don’t always use the bias but when we are tired, in a hurry, distracted or pressured we use the bias to save energy and time.

Recognizing our bias gives us the choice of taking the shortcut or taking the scenic route. There are situations when getting to the goal as fast as possible is preferred but bypassing opportunities has a cost.

Would your organization benefit from a program with the following capabilities?

              Improved communication across the organization.

              Increased empathy and listening ability.

              Higher retention that belonging brings.

Comfort having conversations about identity and culture.

              Leadership and facilitation development

Culture reflects ongoing policies and actions not annual or random events. An accountability group is an organizational supplement to Employee Resource Groups, Lunch and Learns, and book clubs. The Wade Alliance can help you create a system where your organization recognizes bias, navigates through challenges and gains the benefits of an inclusive culture.
